Senior Project Presentation 1

Objective: The students will learn the beginning of ballerina’s life and will understand the definition of ballet in a ballerina’s point of view.

Procedure:
Step 1, Intro: Show the students the picture frame and the pair of pointe shoes, asking them, “What do these mean to you?” (approx. 45 sec.)
Step 2 Inro2: Compare the audience’s view of ballet and the ballerina’s view. Also talk about my interviewee. (approx. 45 sec)
Step 3: Facts about ballet including: the hours of practice (ask students a question), when you need to start training (professional or for fun), and performances. (approx. 45 sec)
Step 4: What does ballet mean to me? (A ballerina’s point of view) (approx. 15 sec)
Step 5: Explain my end goal (approx. 30 sec)
Step 6: Questions including: showing the picture frame and pointe shoes, “Now, what do they mean to you? and “Any questions?” (approx. 45 sec)

Check for Understanding:
I will ask questions at the end including: “Now, what is ballet to you?”
